Established in 1989, Jeff Sahs Violins is a full service repair and restoration shop for the violin family of instruments. Jeff’s natural ability and inclination toward woodworking enables him to specialize in all aspects of the trade, including bow rehairing/restorations, and also double bass
restorations.
Jeff’s intuitive understanding and skill of setup and repair enables him to provide players with a customized and optimum playability of their instrument and bow.
In addition to his mastery of violin repair, Jeff Sahs is also an alumnus of Sacramento State University with degrees in music and art. With his degree in classical bass performance, Jeff continues to perform and play with local symphonies and ensembles.
As a native of Sacramento, Jeff apprenticed for 6 years under Brian Kempton and received full training in violin repairs and restorations. In 1988 after Brian Kempton retired from the trade, Jeff sensed a lack of quality violin repairs in Sacramento and opened his own shop in 1989.
Jeff’s shop is located in South Land Park, and is built on the property of Jeff’s home of residence. Jeff provides services to local schools and universities, students, and professional musicians for all their instrument needs.
